Archaeoastronomy

lascaux for web.JPG

We come from a past when people looked to the night skies to find meaning in their existence. In this image from the Paleolithic cave at Lascaux in France from 17,000 years ago, the birdman (avianoid) is in a trance-like state as he meets with the heliacal rising of the constellation Orion. This was a time when the earth and sky worlds were one.

Nebamun for web.JPG

The ancient Egyptians found an afterlife in the stars of Osiris (Orion) who journeys to that realm on a celestial skiff. Here we find Nebamun in the form of Osiris 'taking recreation and seeing what is good in the place of eternity'.
