The datings of these Gorham's Cave and El Castillo images are contemporaneous with the oldest known figurative painting from a cave on the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia whose research was led by Adam Brumm and Maxime Aubert, archaeologists at Australia's Griffith University, as reported in National Geographic, The Guardian, NPR, Nature, Science Magazine, Smithsonian, The New York Times, Science Magazine and other media outlets.
